Ambury Farm

We had an amazing day at Ambury Farm today! It was the perfect place to go to investigate the process of getting milk from the cow to our fridges! Great motivation for the start of our current inquiry topic 'From Moo To You'!
Thank you to our parent helpers (and to so many of our lovely parents that offered their help).
The educators at Ambury Farm were amazing and we all learnt lots and loved exploring the farm.
Here are a few photos of our day....

Feeding the bull

Watching cows being milked

Using the cream separator to spin the milk fast (centrifugal force) to separate the cream from the milk

Making butter (by flexing our muscles and shaking the cream really hard, waiting for it to separate into butter and buttermilk.

Tasting our butter making skills

Role playing the process of getting milk from the farm to the shop

Visiting the friendly farm animals
